On Wednesday, June 17, 1953, a Mikado type No.6330 engine had its last run on the Southern Railway, and was replaced by diesel powered engines. The old bows to the new, as a century of steam power on the Southern gives up the tracks
to the new era of railroading, diesel. The placement of the trains in the painting is symbolic and poignant. Ordering info for 18"x24" prints is available at: T.D.R. Productions

We really love the smoke plume, the realistic steam and lil' red caboose in the background. The unusual angle of the painting gives the viewer a feeling of motion. You can almost hear the nostalgic chuff-chuff of this New York Central Hudson Locomotive -- Out of a veil of steam and coal dust, "Super Hudson," J3a, Extra 5405 West storms out of the twin tunnel bore at Oscawanna, New York in September 1937. Ordering info for 19"x24" prints is available at: T.D.R. Productions
